Doing things together – that’s what the churches in our area are all about!
Many years ago, the Christians in our local area recognised that what we had in common was so much more important than any differences we might have and ALL the churches made a promise to work together to share God’s love and goodness.
Take a look at what we do together?
- Youth Work – our now famous bus provides a safe, warm welcome for our town’s young people out on the streets at night.
- Global Issues – the town’s FairTrade and Environmental initiatives were started by teams connected to Churches Together.
- Community Events – from arts weekends to civic services to festivals and galas.
- Local Community action – personal care through our Christian Care network, lunch clubs and even litter picking!
- Alpha courses – the world-famous course for people ‘just looking’
- Devotional events over Christmas and Lent which draw many people together from across the churches. We also have regular interchurch prayer meetings.
- Overseas charity work – Christian Aid, the world-class international charity has an active branch here run by local Christians
